This is the statement of SDH (Movement for Permanent Revolution) issued on early January, aiming to develop a front and colaboration of the left that participated in and boosted Gezi Park uprising. This is very important due to the lack of an accurate leadership of the movement and the elections that will be held in Turkey this year. SDH's statement is an example of political revolutionary intervention and underlines the need of the rest of the left to discuss it
Dear representatives of establishments, in the forthcoming local elections, we consider to create a revolutionary option is an immediate duty.
We, as the establishments who fought in roadblocks in June days, can participate in the elections with independent candidates. In this way, we can take our own politics to working class, we can expose capitalist system and we can include new people and new areas to organized fighting. What will be the politic level of this association? We think the right level can be defined by the associations which call themselves more leftist than HDP. In this case, it is an obligation to explain why we need another alternative except HDP. In this case, our ideas are like this: “Keystone of HDP is Kurdish Movement. The head of Kurdish Movement is Abdullah Öcalan. In the past couple of weeks, in Congress of HDP, Öcalan said “The revolutionism of 1971 was the revolutionism of rebellion to government. After 40 years, negotiation with government is important because revolutionary fighting can be permanent humanity acquisition with the negotiation process.” These words explain the situation. Kurdish National Movement can come to an agreement with government and can negotiate. Marxists, in the frame of Self Determination of Nations will respect their decisions and in national problem Marxist will stay with the oppressed nation. On the other hand, revolutionaries don’t have a chance to negotiate with government if they do, they would lose their revolutionary characters. So, we came to this conclusion: If Revolutionary youth and class movement become a part of Kurdish National Movement, They will lose their originality. In such a situation, the movements which are not able to do anything for revolutionary movement, are also not be able to do for Kurdish movement. In the last years, with a movement which becomes more rightist and more powerful than left, brings lots of paradox together. For instance, in the most important days of Gezi protests BDP was against the street movement clearly although they change their position later. Their position against the street movement which mark on Turkish history crate paradoxical situations for the socialist left in HDP. Today, to embrace Gezi is definitely important but after the fading of the street movement is not enough for saving the day. Examples can be more, but there is another big question: BDP has been in local governments in Diyarbakır and lots of places from 1999. Yet, when observed from labor front, there is a big meaningless situation. Also, it is known that some neoliberal implementations such being worked of contract labors in locals by BDP’s local government. While in local governments there are such examples. So, to meet in HDP is how much possible this alternative for Marxists? In this point, the offer of common candidate wasn’t taken to TKP and ÖDP which is not more leftist organizations. Apart from that we think if HDP nominate Sırrı Süreyya Önder as a candidate, it will be good tactic to support Önder. This is more likely about the leftist lines of Önder which is supported by labor class. To be a part of the campaign of Önder would be a better tactic for revolutionaries to be in contact with labors and youths. If Önder won’t be a candidate from Istanbul then, revolutionary establishments should create their own alternative with independent candidates. According to this, every establishment electioneer in the places where they are strong or they do activities. The common election bulletin creates the general frame and the political movements are free to use their own publications. In this way, socialists which are in the fronts of the roadblocks in June Days, can be carriers of the class interests and reach to do revolutionary politics. On the other hand, the audience role of left which watch the country’s politics by having no politics would be dominate. Such an alliance gain more serious position to socialists for the mass and later on it would be helpful for more productive activities. In this frame to meet on common independent revolutionary candidate issue, we call you to meeting January 5 Sunday at 3 pm İstiklal street. Balo home street 5/5 Taksim Movement for Permanent Revolution (SDH) office. With red greetings.
SDH
