[EE.UU.] EL FSP APOYA EL LLAMADO DE LA TPR Y EL FIT A VOTAR EN BLANCO EN EL PRÓXIMO BALLOTAGE PRESIDENCIAL DE ARGENTINA

The Freedom Socialist Party supports the call by Argentine leftists to leave ballots blank in the upcoming run-off election for the country’s next president

On Sunday, November 22, 2015, voters will go to the polls to decide who will become the next president of Argentina. It is a run-off race between Daniel Scioli, the out-going vice president in President Cristina Kirchner’s administration and rightwinger Mauricio Macri, the outgoing mayor of Buenos Aires and son of a wealthy construction magnate.
The differences between these candidates are similar to those between the Democrats and the Republicans in the U.S. in that one is more rightwing than the other but neither of them have anything to offer the poor and working class and both serve the interests of the ruling class.
Macri advocates free capitalist development as the solution to Argentina’s woes, including an anticipated negative growth rate for the economy next year. Scioli says he will uphold Kirchnerism, a left-sounding populism that promises much and delivers little to the working class.
Neither of these candidates represents the interests of the vast majority of Argentines who lived through the 2001-2002 economic crises, one of the worst ever in our hemisphere. The working class has yet to recover from this debacle and neither of the capitalist parties in this race offer any hope of solving the current crisis.
For these reasons, the Freedom Socialist Party (FSP) supports the call to voters by Tendencia Piquetera Revolucionaria (TPR), the Frente Izquierda de los Trabajadores (FIT) and other socialists in Argentina to leave their ballots blank as a form of protest and because it is much better than voting against one’s own interests. When there is no anti-capitalist candidate to support in U.S. elections, the Freedom Socialist Party urges voters in our country to do the same.

Next year, the U.S election will undoubtedly come down to Hillary Clinton for the Democrats and one of the rightwing, anti-immigrant neoliberals for the Republicans. There will probably be one or two socialist candidates for president who will be able to get on a few state ballots, but in states without a socialist or anti-capitalist candidate, we will recommend that voters leave their ballots blank, just as TPR is doing now. It is better to take this path than to vote for what you don’t want and to get it!

[EE.UU] BLOOMBERG: "BERNIE SANDERS ISN'T A SOCIALIST ENOUGH FOR MANY SOCIALISTS" (13/10)

http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-10-13/bernie-sanders-isn-t-socialist-enough-for-many-socialists

“He isn’t an anti-capitalist! He is for reforming capitalism, not changing capitalism. He is really a lot closer in ideology to Hillary Clinton than he is to me,” said Stephen Durham, the 2012 presidential nominee of the Freedom Socialist Party. “His is the politics of a lesser evil among some very bad choices.”

[EEUU] FSP: "BERNIE SANDERS' BID FOR PRESIDENT: WHAT WOULD EUGENE DEBS THINK?"

http://www.socialism.com/drupal-6.8/statements/bernie-sanders-bid-president-what-would-eugene-debs-think

It’s clear why fed-up voters are attracted to Bernie Sanders. He rails against the billionaires and calls for a U.S. political revolution. Who doesn’t want to end the rule of banksters and CEOs? Who doesn’t want to stop the corporate harvesting of all things profitable at the expense of people and the planet? Who doesn’t want to hear the needs of working people promoted for a change?

[EE.UU.] FSP: THE CHARLESTON KILLINGS: INDICTMENT OF A RACIST SYSTEM

The Charleston Killings: Indictment of a Racist System

The Freedom Socialist Party joins millions of Americans in expressing our condolences to the families, friends and congregation of those killed in Charleston, South Carolina by white supremacist Dylann Roof. We join with the #BlackLivesMatter and #StandWithCharleston movements in calling for widespread actions to protest these deaths and the forces behind the carnage.

Mother Emanuel Church: a symbol of Black resistance

Amidst the gunfire at the Charleston church, a young Black girl lay still, playing dead to avoid the carnage. But she couldn’t avoid the racist rants of the white gunman: “You are raping our women and taking over the country.”

The 22 year-old shooter was merely recycling the ancient arguments of the Klan and Nazis whose ideology he clearly shares in word and deed. Roof was aiming to stop growing protests against racist killer cops who continue to shoot and injure with impunity across the U.S. His words were aimed at inflaming a race war in this country.

They were also meant to destroy all that Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church represents in the struggle against racism and forced servitude. The church was built by Denmark Vesey, a former slave who in 1822 planned the largest slave revolt in U.S. history. He was caught and hung before the rebellion could take place, and the church was burned by a white mob. The history of this revolt was suppressed by wealthy slave owners who ran the nearby slave market. But Vesey’s son rebuilt the church and it became a stop on the Underground Railroad. In the 1960s, it became a center of organizing for civil and labor rights.

[EE.UU.] FSP: "WHY OBAMA AND THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY SEEK TO SHUT DOWN THE BALTIMORE UPRISING"

Why Obama and the Democratic Party seek to shut down the Baltimore uprising

Speaker: Steve Strauss, Freedom Socialist Party

Steve lives in the Baltimore area and took part in the protests against the murder of Freddie Gray by Baltimore cops.

The Democratic Party is leading the way in trying to stop the U.S. movement against rampant police brutality and murder. Their representatives are blaming the victims of police brutality, physically forcing people off the streets, and promoting faith in the capitalist legal system.

Neither Democrats nor Republicans address the real crime: High unemployment, inadequate housing, and lack of quality healthcare in poor Black communities. Working people need funds for social services and jobs, not for an abusive militarized police force!

Racism and police abuse are built into how the capitalist system works. Until that system is replaced by socialism, we need elected civilian review boards that have the power to fire and discipline police. It is long past the time for community control of the police!

FSP - STATEMENT: "IT'S A THUGGISH SYSTEM - FROM BALTIMORE TO BAGHDAD"

The people of Baltimore are not thugs!
It’s a thuggish SYSTEM – from Baltimore to Baghdad!

The people of Baltimore — and the entire country — are justifiably angry at the racist cruelty of those in power and their armed occupying force — the Baltimore police.
It is outrageous that Freddie Gray died in police custody, arrested for the “crime” of running away from the cops, and now the city establishment refuses to make public how he died and who will be held accountable.
The anger did not begin with Gray’s murder. It is a normal response to a system that favors the super-rich, at the immense expense of the poor, and that uses racism to divide us. The fuel of poverty, urban decay, inadequately funded schools, and joblessness was already set. Freddie
Gray’s murder was the spark.

FSP Solidarity Statement to the February 27, 2015 TPR rally calling for the recall of U.S. Ambassador Noah Mamet

The Freedom Socialist Party, U.S. stands in solidarity with the protest organized by TPR at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires. We support the demand that U.S. Ambassador Noah Mamet immediately cease interfering in internal Argentine affairs by meeting with representatives of right wing organizations in an effort to capitalize on the current government crisis and that he be recalled to the U.S. This crisis takes place in the wake of the murder of Alberto Nisman, an Argentine state prosecutor and chief investigator of the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in which 85 people died.

[EE. UU.] FRENTE AL ASESINATO DEL JOVEN AFROAMERICANO MICHAEL BROWN: DECLARACIÓN DEL FSP

Declaración del Partido de Libertad Socialista y Mujeres Radicales
(Freedom Socialist Party y Radical Women), EE.UU.

[FONDOS BUITRE] Freedom Socialist Party Statement on the sovereign debt crisis in Argentina

Freedom Socialist Party Statement on the sovereign debt crisis in Argentina

“Not even a dollar to the debt!”

July 9, 2014

The Freedom Socialist Party in the United States stands today with the workers of Argentina in your fight against vulture capitalists who would force your country into another murderous economic crisis. We join Tendencia Piquetera Revolucionaria and other organizations in calling on the Kirchner government to refuse to pay even one dollar on the national debt—a “debt” owed to the crooks and gamblers of the imperialist world.
