[GREECE] ACT IN THE GREEK EMBASSY IN BUENOS AIRES - ATHENS, ANTI-FASCIST CITY!

NOTE: When we finished translating our solidarity article to the anti-fascist demonstration issued January 16^th, we were said that an official call of the leadership of Syriza was issued, after a lot of rank and file committees had called to the demonstration. We salute this victory AGAINST Syriza´s leadership, who had to call to the rally finally. We also want to point out that the late call is because the leadership is strategically against the fight to kick Samaras out and the fight to smash fascism. That’s why they join the demonstration at the final minute instead of organizing it. We say to Syriza rank and file committees and members: Let’s go for a Workers United Front to kick Samaras out! No confidence on Syriza!  For a workers government! For the United Socialist States of Europe!

FOR THE UNITY AND SELF-DEFENSE OF THE LEFT, WORKERS AND IMMIGRANTS

On January 19^th in Athens there will be a demonstration day, with art and culture activities in whole city, against the fascists’ attacks and the repressive policy of the troika’s government. There are already organized meetings in solidarity in dozens of cities. Let’s do solidarity rallies with the Greek fighters and workers, all around the world.

Samaras´ government (coalition of New Democracy, DIMAR and PASOK, under the wing of the troika) is developing a repressive policy against immigrants. The troika coalition has opened the so called “concentration camps”, where immigrants without papers are detained until 18 months in bad conditions and then expelled from the country; it allowed the installation of the first FRONTEX operational center (EU agency for external border security) which was denounced “of turning a blind eye to the torture, beating, and systematic degradation of illegal migrants detained after crossing the border from Turkey” (The Guardian, September 21); and also pretend to denied the citizenship to the immigrants´ children, in order to illegalize and then deport them.

FOR THE UNITY AND SELF-DEFENSE OF THE LEFT, WORKERS AND IMMIGRANTS AGAINST THE GOLDEN DAWN GANGS AND SAMARAS´ POLICE

The fascists of Golden Dawn are attacking immigrants more and more, with the protection and blind eye of the police. The greek calling to the demonstration denounce “We cannot accept [Minister of Public Order] Dendias’ police attacking strikes and demonstrations with tons of chemicals and extending a hand of cooperation to the Neo-nazi assault squads of Golden Dawn, organizing racist pogroms in the neighborhoods with stabbings of immigrants, destruction of shops and house intrusions. It’s the same police that jails demonstrators like it did in Thessaloniki, where it reached the point of torturing the antifascist demonstrators of the motorbike demonstration.”

Against this situation, the antifacist demonstration is supported by dozens of unions, immigrants associations, students unions, artists, political fronts and parties (as Antarsya and EEK), anarchist organizations, among others (see here).

It has been set up a unity movement to fight the attack of the government, EU and fascists. This is the way to fight the troika government! This is the way to defeat the fascists!

We, the TPR, also point out that it is necessary to set up common self-defense groups of the left parties, trade union and immigrants. Masses demonstrations to defeat fascism are necessaries but not enough. Although we agree with denouncing Samaras´ government, Greek State and its police because they are accomplice of fascists gangs, the fact is that attacks won’t stop because we make a big demonstration. Fascists’ gangs are cowards, treacherous and attack all the time. So, we have to be prepared. The security of popular organizations can never rely on the repressive State, but it has to be guaranteed by the popular organizations themselves. As Leon Trotsky said: not discuss with fascism, combat it!

SYRIZA AND KKE MUST BREAK WITH THE SUICIDAL PASSIVITY AND JOIN THE WORKERS UNITED FRONT

In the same sense, we make a strong call to the militants and the leadership of the popular-front parties (Syriza and KKE) in order to avoid repeating the sectarian and democratizing policy as German social democracy or Spanish Popular Front did in the 30´s: against fascism, the unity of workers and popular organizations must be expressed early and strongly setting up the workers united front, without the paralyzing influence of the bourgeois parties and with the political decision of smash any anti-workers provocation.

This should be clear for any revolutionary. However, it seems that some people don’t want to learn from political history. The fact that Syriza and KKE do not support the 19-J pictures them as organizations hostiles to the struggling unity of the working class and unables to be a practical alternative for the thousands who oppose the fascist gangs. That a party, which got 27% in the last elections, doesn’t use that overwhelming popular support to denounce and fight in the streets the collaboration between Samaras´ police and Golden Dawn gangs, shows that it is unable because of its cowardice or programmatic limits be a practical alternative to Greek workers. What can we say about a Stalinist party that prides itself of going into Berlin with the tanks and now it cannot…join a demonstration against fascists’ gangs!

So, with theirs suicidal passivity, the leadership of Syriza and KKE confirm what we are saying: to keep off fascism rise, first we have to achieve the revolutionarity unity of workers and the left, breaking with the front-populist paralysis. The only way to set a “left government” is building a workers united front against fascism, the EU, adjustment and debt payment, fighting for a workers government and United Socialist States of Europe. That´s why we call Syriza and KKE to break with their reactionary isolation to join the demonstration and pronounce themselves without doubt for the unity and self-defense of the left, workers and immigrants.

FROM ARGENTINA, ALL THE SUPPORT TO THE ANTIFASCIST STRUGGLE IN GREECE: DOWN WITH SAMARAS! FOR A WORKERS GOVERNMENT AND UNITED SOCIALIST STATES OF EUROPE!

Against the attempt to make us pay the crisis with more misery, degradation and oppression, let´s go for a United Workers Front to kick Samaras out.

We, the Tendencia Piquetera Revolucionaria from Argentina, want to warmly salute the protest day in Athens and communicate you that in our country we will develop a solidarity rally in front of the Greek Embassy: you struggle is our struggle.

Workers of all countries, unite! The fascists, won´t pass! Let´s go for the united front of trade unions, the left and immigrants!
