LEFT-WING DEMONSTRATION AGAINST THE MASSACRE OF SYRIAN PEOPLE BY AL-ASSAD

THURSDAY JUNE 7TH - 17:30 HS - FROM CÓRDOBA AVENUE AND CALLAO AVENUE TO SYRIAN EMBASSY

“CRISTINA SUPPORTS AL-ASSAD BECAUSE HE SUPPORTS CRISTINA IN HER ATTEMPT TO MAKE A FAMATINA IN MALVINAS”

FROM THE TPR, WE STAND FOR:

OUT WITH AL-ASSAD! // NOT TO IMPERIALIST INTERVENTION IN SYRIA! // NO CONFIDENCE IN THE FREE SYRIAN ARMY! // LONG LIVE TO REVOLUTION IN SYRIA, NORTH AFRICA AND MIDDLE EAST ALL!

Today, Thursday June 7th, it will take place a left-wing demonstration to the Syrian Embassy to condemn the massacre that Al-Assad is perpetrating against the Syrian people. The demonstration is organized by the Syrian Committee, composed of non-grouped students, workers from the Paty factory, Tower Movement (Movimiento Torre), The Locust (La Cigarra), Socialist Left (Izquierda Socialista), Workers Democracy (Democracia Obrera), Socialist Commune (Comuna Socialista), the Collective Empowerment (Colectivo Autogestión), and Revolutionary Piquetero Tendency (TPR). Also Socialist Convergence (Convergencia Socialista), People's Assemblies (Asambleas del Pueblo) and the Revolutionary Workers Current (Corriente Obrera Revolucionaria) will participate. The slogans of the demonstration are: Out with Al-Assad, who massacres in the name of Obama and looks after Zionism frontiers! No confidence in the Free Syrian Army! Long live to revolution in Syria, North Africa and Middle East!

AL-ASSAD IS DEVELOPING A BRUTAL GENOCIDE AGAINST SYRIAN PEOPLE: THERE ARE MORE THAN 12,000 KILLED

Juan Marino, TPR’s leader, said that: “today we march, first of all, to repudiate the brutal genocide that Al-Assad is perpetrating against the Syrian people. On May 25th, Al-Assad developed a slaughter in the town of Houla, brutally murdering more than 100 Syrian civilians, sparking a new international political crisis. Earlier, Al-Assad had already bombarded the towns of Homs and Aleppo, causing hundreds of deaths of workers, women and children. Without going any further, this scene was repeated yesterday in the town of Hama, where there were killed over 60 people by the actions of the militias of mercenaries who respond to Al-Assad’s government. As to today, those killed by the Syrian regime exceed the number of 12,000, so we can say that we are facing a genocide comparable to the one carried out by the own father of Bashar Al-Assad in 1982, when being dictator of Syria massacred about 20,000 people. For this reason, and the fact that Al-Assad’s regime has nothing to do with the anti-imperialist struggle in the Middle East because it’s based on negotiations with imperialism that the Syrian government has woven for years, from the Revolutionary Piquetero Tendency, we express our solidarity with Syrian people and support their struggle to expel Al-Assad and his entire reactionary regime”.

CRISTINA IS SILENT ABOUT THE SLAUGHTER OF THE SYRIAN PEOPLE BECAUSE SHE SUPPORTS AL-ASSAD

Marino emphasized that “Cristina maintains a complicit silence about the slaughter of the Syrian people. On May 25th, Cristina said nothing in her presidential address about the fact that, at the same time she was speaking, Al-Assad carried out a brutal slaughter in Houla. In 2010, Cristina received Al-Assad at the Sheraton Hotel and greeted the Syrian government support to kirchnerist policy of negotiating with British imperialism a shared exploitation of oil in Malvinas. Therefore, if Cristina supports Al-Assad, is because Al-Assad supports Cristina’s policy of setting up a Famatina in Malvinas, that is, to claim a portion of the oil business in the islands to give it to a sector of imperialist companies associated with kirchnerism. In the same vein, Cristina ratified in 2011 Robert Ahuad in charge of the Embassy of Argentina in Syria, being Ahuad who operated to organize a Syrian-Jordanian committee to support the negotiation that Cristina wants to build in Malvinas. As Revolutionary Piquetero Tendency, we call on Argentine people to repudiate Cristina's complicity with Al-Assad, and to demand the immediate break of relations of the Argentine government with the Syrian government. "

IMPERIALISM, THE RIGHT-WING AND THE FREE SYRIAN ARMY WANT A GOVERNMENT LIKE THAT OF AL-ASSAD WITHOUT AL-ASSAD

In turn, the leader of the TPR remarked that "from the TPR we also repudiate the policy of imperialism, the right-wing and the Free Syrian Army, that aims to install a government like that of Al-Assad without Al-Assad. The U.S. government is not opposed to Al-Assad in defense of the Syrian people, but instead wants to defeat the Syrian revolution either through an imperialist invasion, through rigged elections in complicity with the regime of Al-Assad, or through a combination of both variants. In the same vein, when the Argentine right-wing parties oppose Cristina’s agreements with Al-Assad, as did Duhalde’s congressman Eduardo Amadeo, they do it based on defending the interests of zionism and imperialism in the Middle East. On the other hand, Free Syrian Army is a military grouping formed by imperialism through the Turkish government, which rejects popular arming, leaving Syrian people unarmed in front of the regime's repression. The FSA accepted without question the cease-fire imposed by the Annan Plan, while the population continued being killed by Al-Assad. The second in charge of the Free Syrian Army has come out publicly in favor of a foreign military invasion. Therefore, from the TPR we want to warn that imperialism is preparing a political and military offensive against the Syrian people, and that the UN mission in Syria, called MISNUS, is an imperialist operation to develop a land recognition task prior to the military offensive. For the same reason, we require the Argentine government to pronounce publicly on the information disseminated by the media indicating that the government is evaluating adding Argentine soldiers to MISNUS. Argentine fighters have all the reasons to believe that if imperialism decides to mount a military offensive against Syria, the Argentine government will join it, because in 2004 it has already done so when they sent troops to join the military occupation against fraternal people of Haiti, has allowed the installation of a military base in Southern Command in Chaco and has said nothing against the recent installation of a Yankee base in Chile. "

LET’S FIGHT TO DEFEAT CRISTINA’S COMPLICITY WITH AL-ASSAD, SUPPORT SYRIAN REVOLUTION, EXPEL AL-ASSAD AND REPUDIATE ANY IMPERIALIST INTERFERENCE AGAINST SYRIAN PEOPLE

Finally, Marino said that "today’s march has to be the kick-off of a mobilization plan to defeat Cristina's complicity with Al-Assad, support Syrian revolution, expel Al-Assad and repudiate any imperialist interference against Syrian people. In the same vein, from the TPR we do understand that the next step is to go to the Argentina Foreign Ministry, which has promoted the presence of an ambassador in Syria, who is an accomplice of the genocidal regime of Al-Assad. And if the government of Cristina does not answer and remains an accomplice in the massacre of Syrian people, we have to prepare a great demonstration to the Plaza de Mayo with all these statements".
