[TURKEY] FOUR SDH’S COMRADES DETAINED AFTER RIOTS IN ISTANBUL

FOUR SDH’S COMRADES DETAINED AFTER RIOTS IN ISTANBUL

Three days ago police killed a protester, Ahmet Atakan, in Antakya which is a city near the Syrian border. After this massacre, in many cities hundreds of thousands of people went into the streets and protested the police terror and AKP government.
In İstanbul-Kadıköy, for two days police forces were attacking demonstrations with pressurized water and tear gases. Today, while the police attacks, one of our woman comrades who has asthma fainted because of tear gases.
She was taken into the infirmary which was found by protesters. While our comrades were inside infirmary police attacked with tear gases violently and arrested many protesters. Police also entered the infirmary and arrested many people. Four of our comrades were inside and they were also arrested. There is no news from our comrades since three hours ago.
Also in Ankara, İzmir and Antakya police attacked the demonstrations. There were also attacks in Alevian neighbourhoods such as Gazi District which is known with the massacre in 1996 state killed 23 Alevian people, Sarıgazi. After the June Riots it is the first time people are in the streets so crowdly. So, AKP government and dictator Erdoğan are in fear of social explosion.
